The Art Of Game Design spoke of the different aspects of human behavior that are essential for game designers to account for when designing a game. Making the game the experience for a player is one thing but a step up from that is to make the player experience an experience. Everyone has different experiences and even if they’re similar they could be perceived differently. Due to this game designers need ways of making games appealing and memorable so that they can be distinct enough for everyone to enjoy and appreciate as well as remember. In addition to this the game designer needs to keep in mind where the game will be played whether it be in the privacy of one’s bedroom or in front of a tv and couch or on a bus where others could possibly see. The “venue” as they call it has a significant influence on what someone would play. In addition to this, in Theory Of Fun For Game Design it speaks of the importance of the context of a game as well as how it’s choreographed. They’re are many aspects to it, similar to how dancers, actors, and musicians have their own creativity but they can be led by another person to make something completely new. Context is also very important because it’ll determine how appealing a game can be to a person. They gave the example of how Tetris, a simple game almost everyone has played, could be appealing if there was a dark context behind it.
